Another intriguing attraction could be The National Library of Belarus which is situated outside of the city’s centre. This also allows you to take a ride on the local metro , which has an abundance of Soviet 8 or at the very least Eastern European) charm’. This Library is located in the “Uschod” Metro Station. The building traveler photos itself is appealing due to its contemporary and unique form. The library was closed the day I went to visit which meant I was able to only appreciate the exterior of the building which is worth the visit for those who are interested in architecture generally. In the vicinity of the library are other the classic Eastern European prefab buildings with massive paintings that line its walls to provide a great alternative to the contemporary library.
Another thing that is interesting that can be found in Minsk is the fact that there is a place that was where Lee Harvey Oswald used to reside during the 60s. The building is not unique in the structure, but knowing that he was there was intriguing. Other famous best time to go to greece individuals with directly connected directly to Minsk as well as Belarus are Marc Chagall and Shimon Peres.
Manufactura,Stories and my personal favourite
Of all the parks that I have listed, I really enjoyed Yanka Kupala Park which is situated right next to the Svislach River. Additionally, many cafes offer some time to relax while you explore the city, like Manufactura, Stories and my personal favourite, Zerno. A comprehensive guide on coffee in Minsk is available here.
Not to be left out I strongly recommend visit the huge market hall, and particularly the farmer’s markets that are located behind the market hall. Both are attractions that are not on the tourist trail. These markets are a fantastic opportunity to connect with the locals as well as gain a true understanding of the Belarusian way of life. They are absolutely authentic.
World Heritage Site a great deal.
If you are looking for an excursion of a day after spending two days in Minsk I suggest you to go to Nesvizh Castle. In fact, Western Europe offers a great range of stunning castles, however, Nesvizh Castle also provides beautiful architecture as well as fascinating cultural insights. While it was raining when I visited I was impressed by the castle that is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site a great deal.

In the end, Minsk offers a lot of attractions, regardless of whether they can be visited in only one or up to up to two days. Though I’d rather visit other capitals of the region, specifically Kiev and Chisinau, Minsk is an fascinating city, perhaps due to the fact that Minsk is trying to restructure its identity, and it is exciting to watch this change.
