What You Need to Know About a Tourist Visa for India

If you are thinking of traveling to India, you will want to get a tourist visa before you go. While a visa on arrival is available if you are in a hurry, a tourist visa is best for those who want to avoid the hassle of sending their passport and standing in line outside the Indian embassy. Basically, a tourist visa is only valid for four purposes: sightseeing, visiting friends and relatives, receiving short medical treatment, and conducting a short business.

E-Tourist visas are electronic travel authorizations

A digital travel authorization (e-Tourist Visa) is an electronic travel document that allows a person to enter India for tourism. Indian Visa for French Citizens has a 12-month validity and is good for 30 days from the date of first entry. This e-Visa is not convertible or extendable but does provide a convenient, fast way to visit India. Additionally, this electronic travel authorization can be used for multiple entries within the same 12-month period. However, it does not provide legal entry to the country at land immigration checkpoints.

To apply for an e-Tourist visa, you must hold a valid passport with at least two blank pages for entry and exit stamps. Diplomatic passports or International Travel Documents are not accepted. E-Tourist Visa holders must arrive through designated airports and depart through designated Immigration Check Posts to qualify for the visa. Those who wish to arrive through a different port of entry will still need to obtain an e-Tourist visa at an embassy or consulate.

They are non-extendable, non-convertible & not valid for visiting Protected/Restricted/Cantonment Areas

In order to visit India, you need a valid passport that is valid for six months or more. You can also apply for an e-Visa by email. Once you get an e-Visa, you can visit India up to 3 times a year. However, this visa is not extendable, convertible, or valid for visiting Protected/Restricted/Cantonment Areas. Additionally, you must have sufficient funds to spend while in India.

The e-Business Visa allows you to visit India twice a year. The e-Visa is non-extendable, non-convertible, and not valid for visiting Protected/Restricted/Cantonment Areas. Obtaining an e-Visa is free, but you must have sufficient funds to support yourself in India. Besides, you must have a return or onward ticket to return home. You must have an individual passport for every person you plan to bring with you.

They are non-extendable

Indian Visa for German Citizens in India is non-extendable, meaning you cannot double-enter within 30 days of getting them. The old policy allowed visitors to stay in the country for up to 90 days and then return, but the new regulations allow for only a single entry every 120 days. Depending on the country you are from, this is still more than enough time to explore the country. However, if you are traveling with family, you may want to apply for a longer visa if you are traveling with a child.

The changes will apply to those who want to enter the country on commercial or charter flights, as well as people who have valid long-term tourist visas from India. While this new rule will not affect you, if you are a national of the USA or Japan, your old Long-term (10) Tourist Visa will still stand. However, you should apply for a new 30-day tourist visa if you want to enter the country by land or sea.

They are non-transferable

The 30-day ETA (Expedited Transit Authorization) for India allows foreign tourists to enter the country twice in a period of thirty days. This is valid from the date of first entry and must be revalidated within 180 days. The ETA is non-transferable and must be obtained at the Indian Mission/Post abroad. This visa cannot be extended for more than 180 days.

If you need to extend your stay in India, you will have to leave the country and reapply for a new visa. Since 30-day tourist visas for India are non-transferable, it will be necessary for you to leave the country in order to extend your stay. You should check with the Indian government before applying for a new visa. After all, you must not overstay your visit!

They are not valid for religious activities

Catholics have long held that the sacraments are for the sole benefit of believers. However, this view is not supported by the Bible. The Bible states that sacraments are for the purpose of receiving grace, not for carrying them around. Moreover, the Scriptures do not make it clear that the sacraments have any visible sign. The only visible sign is a ceremony, which is only valid for those who have faith.
